"We were referred to Mike Tiemans and Eco-Cabins from a friend who had a home built by Mike in Bicheno.  The fact that our friend was a furniture designer, who had an eye for detail and excellence in manufacturing, went a long way to persuading us.  We contracted Mike to build one of his architect designed, Mako series homes.  After meeting with the architect on-site and designing our home to suit the lay of the land and to make use of passive solar design principals, construction commenced shortly afterwards.  We wanted to include a solar hot water system as well as rain water harvesting and this was no problem at all.  Both Scott Verdouw from Jaws architects and Mike Tiemans as well as all his staff at Eco-Cabins have been a pleasure to deal with, being readily available to discuss design options and variations.  The inclusion of double glazed windows and ample insulation as standard in the Mako series makes for a warm home perfectly suited to Tasmanian conditions.  Being first home buyers ourselves, we had numerous questions which they were more than happy to give the necessary time to answer. Mike’s after sale service has been fantastic and I would recommend Eco-Cabins to anyone.  Now that we have moved into our new home, we are extremely happy with the finished result and look forward to many years in it to come."
